Understanding SoftLift

SoftLift is a non-ablative laser treatment delivered using the 1570 nm wavelength on the Alma Hybrid platform. It is designed for clients looking to improve skin texture, firmness and overall skin quality without the same level of surface ablation associated with deeper CO2 resurfacing.

The treatment works by creating controlled thermal stimulation deeper within the skin while leaving the epidermal surface intact.

SoftLift may be considered for mild lines, early visible sun damage, uneven texture, dull-looking skin and reduced firmness. It can also form part of a clinician-led maintenance plan between more intensive resurfacing treatments.

THE TREATMENT

How it works

SoftLift uses the 1570 nm non-ablative laser within the Alma Hybrid platform.

Unlike ablative CO2 resurfacing, the treatment does not intentionally remove the skin surface. Instead, the 1570 nm wavelength creates controlled thermal zones within deeper layers of the skin while leaving the epidermis intact.

This thermal effect is used to support collagen remodelling and gradual improvement in skin structure and quality.

Treatment parameters are adjusted according to the area being treated, the condition of the skin and the goals agreed during consultation.

Because SoftLift is non-ablative, it may be selected when a client wants professional resurfacing or rejuvenation with a shorter recovery profile than a more intensive ablative CO2 treatment.

What to expect

Your appointment begins with a consultation and assessment of your skin, medical history, previous treatments and the concerns you would like to address.

If SoftLift is considered appropriate, the skin is prepared and suitable eye protection is used before treatment begins.

During treatment, you may experience warmth, heat or a prickling sensation as the laser energy is delivered.

Following treatment, temporary redness, warmth, mild swelling, dryness or sensitivity may occur. Recovery is generally shorter than with ablative CO2 resurfacing, although individual responses vary.

Your clinician will explain the expected recovery period, skincare adjustments and aftercare relevant to your treatment before you leave.

RESULTS + TIMELINE

A gradual, individual process

SoftLift is designed to support gradual improvement rather than an immediate dramatic change.

As the skin responds to controlled thermal stimulation and collagen remodelling, clients may notice progressive improvement in texture, firmness and overall skin quality.

More than one session may be recommended depending on the concern being treated, the starting condition of the skin and the treatment plan agreed with the clinician.

Results vary between individuals, and complete correction of lines, pigmentation, texture or laxity cannot be guaranteed.

SoftLift may be considered for adults concerned about mild lines, early signs of sun damage, uneven texture, dull-looking skin or reduced firmness who are interested in a non-ablative rejuvenation approach.

SoftLift will not be suitable for every client or every concern. Depending on the assessment, a different treatment, a more intensive resurfacing option or no treatment may be recommended.

AFTERCARE

Looking after your skin afterwards

Follow the personalised aftercare instructions provided by your treating clinician, as these should always take priority over general skincare advice.

Use gentle skincare while the skin settles and avoid unnecessary rubbing, picking or exfoliation.

Strong retinoids, exfoliating acids and other potentially irritating active products should be paused until your clinician advises that they can be resumed.

Daily broad-spectrum sun protection is particularly important following laser treatment.

Avoid excessive heat and other activities that may aggravate temporary redness or sensitivity during the initial recovery period.

Contact the clinic if you experience unexpected symptoms or have concerns about your recovery.
